State is Great

The Wyoming State Track and Field Championships were held in Laramie and the Trojans did a great job there. The girls’ team finished in 3rd place and the boys finished in 7th but both teams had outstanding performances

Women's Results
On the women’s side, Jordan Merback (1st triple jump, 2nd 55 hurdles, 2nd 4x400 relay, 7th 55 meters), Shanae Hedlund (2nd 400, 2nd 4x400 relay, 6th 55 meters, 7th 200 meters), Kate Nyffeler (7th 800, 2nd 4x400 relay, 3rd 4x800 relay), Deb McCloud (3rd high jump) Audrey Stevens (6th triple jump, 7th 55 hurdles), Margot Bonifas (6th high jump), Julia Popish (2nd 4x400 relay) Kameryn Brewster, Jordan Mestas and Alyssa Rosalez (3rd 4x800 relay) led the way for the women’s team.

Men's Results
On the men’s side, Beau Watt (1st high jump, 5th long jump, 4th 4x400 relay), Brandon Douglass (1st 55 high hurdles, 6th high jump, 4th 4x400 relay), Dan Marken and John Fowler (4th 4x400 relay) paced the men’s squad.
Jordan Merback, Shanae Hedlund, Beau Watt, and Brandon Douglass earned Wyoming Coaches Association All-State Awards for their performances at the state meet.

Season Update

2008 Season Opener In Capital City
This meet had more athletes competing than the first of the season and placing the event was more difficult, but the trojans were able to surpass their placing from last week.

Women's Update
On the girls side of the ledger, kayla Clark recieved 2nd in the high jump, Margot Bonifas 3rd in the high jump, Deb McClound 6th in the high jump, Kameryn Brewster placed 5th in the 1600 meters, Audrey Stevens recieved 2nd in 55 meter hurdle and 6th in 400 meters, Julia Popish got 2nd place in the 55 meters, and Shanae Hedlund recived 2nd 400 meter and 3rd in the 55 meter hurdles.
Men's Update
On the men's side of the meet, Beau Watt placed 2nd in the hihg jump and 4th in the long jump. Brandon Douglass recived 1st in the 55 meter hurdle, and 3rd in the pole vault, daniel marken got 6th place in the 55 meter, and John Fowler recieved 4th in the 400 meters, and 4th in the 55 meter hurdles.


The Trojans travel to Chadron, Nebraska on Saturday for the Chadron State College Winter Classic Invitational.

Records Fall In Chadron

One meet record and three school records fell by the wayside at the Chadron State Winter Classic Track & Field Meet on Saturday. More than a dozen personal records went down also.

Women's Results
Shanae Hedlund recieved 1st place in the 400 meters, 2nd in the 200 meters, and 2nd 4x400 relay. Kate Nyffeler placed 1st in the 800 meters and 2nd in the 4x400 relay, Kameryn Brewster recived 3rd in the 800 meters and 7th in the 1600 meters, Deb McCloud got 3rd in the high jump, Margot Bonifas placed 3rd in the high jump, Jessie taylor placed 3rd int he high jump, Kayla clark placed 6th in the high jump, Jordan Mestas recived 5th in the 800 meters and 2nd in the 4x400 relay, Julia Popish placed 7th in the 200 meters and 2nd in the 4x400 relay.


Men's Results
Robert Yarbro placed 7th in the 800 meters, John Fowler recived 7th place in the 400 meters, and Daniel Marken places 5th in the 200 meters.

More school records fall!
The records are brandon douglass in the 55-meter hurdles, Kate Nyffeler in the 800 meters and Kameryn Brewster in the 1600 meters established school records. Shanae Hedlund established a new meet record in the 400 meters as well. The Trojans next stop on the winter tour is the Black Hills State University Invitational on Saturday in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Four new school records were recorded at the Blak Hills State University Invitational meet on Saturday in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Women's Results
On the womans side the winners were Shanae Hedlund with 1st place in the 200, 2nd in the 4x400 relay and 3rd in the 55, Julia Popish placed 2nd in the 4x400 relay 5th in the 200 and 7th in the 55, Kate Nyffeler recived 2nd in the 800 and 2nd in the 4x400 relay, Kameryn Brewster placed 6th in the 1600 and 8th in the 800, Jordan Merback placed 1st in the 55 hurdles 1st in the triple jump and 2nd in the 4x400 relay, Audrey Stevens recieved 3rd in the triple jump and 7th in the 55 hurdles, Margot Bonifas placed 4th in the high jump and 8th in the triple jump, Deb McClound placed 5th in the high jump, and Kelsey Ball placed 6th in the triple jump.

On the men's side, the place winners included Daniel Marken who placed 4th in the 200 and 4th in the 4x400 relay, Robert Yarbro placed 6th in the 800, Brandon Douglass recived 3rd in the high jump 4th in the 4x400 relay and 3rd in the high jump, Cameron Stanek placed 5th in the high jump and 8th in the long jump, Beau Watt recived 4th in the long jump and 4th in the 4x400 relay, and John Fowler placed 4th in the 4x400 relay.

School records Fall!

Kate Nyffeler and Kameryn Brewster broke their own one-week-old records in the 800 and the 600. Daniel Marken set a new mark in the 200 meters and Robert Yarbro in the 800 meters.
